This award-winning, stunning hotel is seeking an exceptional and accomplished Sous Chef to join and help lead the kitchen team.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in managing the kitchen to ensure the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and service.
- Act as a deputy with all responsibilities as required.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and organized environment at all times.
- Plan daily operations of all kitchen sections to meet service standards.
- Control operating costs with the aid of the Head Chef, including food ordering and stock management.
- Conduct accurate stock takes and quality checks on stock, produce, and dishes.
- Provide training and ensure team understanding of products to foster development as chefs.
- Respond flexibly to business and client needs, offering guidance and support to colleagues in difficult situations.
- Manage rotas according to business levels.
- Ensure daily food preparation complies with recipes and specifications, maintaining size, quantity, and quality standards.
- Participate in relevant meetings to stay informed about hotel operations.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar role and environment.
- Relevant qualifications such as City & Guild 7061/7062 or NVQ Level 2/3.
- Experience with ordering systems and cost control processes.
- Hands-on team player with experience in training and coaching.
- Stable CV with excellent references, experienced in handling fresh produce.
- Possess NVQ Level 1 and 2 or equivalent, and hygiene certification.
- Must be working in or residing in the UK, with the right to work documented.
