Job Opportunity: Sous Chef at Award-Winning Hotel

This award-winning, stunning hotel is seeking an exceptional and accomplished Sous Chef to join and help lead the kitchen team.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist the Head Chef in managing the kitchen to ensure the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and service.
  2. Act as a deputy with all responsibilities as required.
  3. Maintain a clean, tidy, and organized environment at all times.
  4. Plan daily operations of all kitchen sections to meet service standards.
  5. Control operating costs with the aid of the Head Chef, including food ordering and stock management.
  6. Conduct accurate stock takes and quality checks on stock, produce, and dishes.
  7. Provide training and ensure team understanding of products to foster development as chefs.
  8. Respond flexibly to business and client needs, offering guidance and support to colleagues in difficult situations.
  9. Manage rotas according to business levels.
  10. Ensure daily food preparation complies with recipes and specifications, maintaining size, quantity, and quality standards.
  11. Participate in relevant meetings to stay informed about hotel operations.
Requirements
  1. Previous experience in a similar role and environment.
  2. Relevant qualifications such as City & Guild 7061/7062 or NVQ Level 2/3.
  3. Experience with ordering systems and cost control processes.
  4. Hands-on team player with experience in training and coaching.
  5. Stable CV with excellent references, experienced in handling fresh produce.
  6. Possess NVQ Level 1 and 2 or equivalent, and hygiene certification.
  7. Must be working in or residing in the UK, with the right to work documented.
