Job summary

The Lifeboat Inn, part of St Austell Brewery, is seeking a versatile Sous Chef to join our busy kitchen at St Ives. You will support the Head Chef, ensure dishes meet specifications, and adapt menus to guest needs.

You will work with locally sourced produce in a historic harbor setting, with benefits including a bonus scheme, food and drink discounts, staff accommodation discounts, training, pension, and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Sous Chef in a busy kitchen.
• Ability to lead a kitchen team alongside Head Chef.
• Comfort with adapting menus and meeting dish specifications.

Responsibilities

• Support Head Chef in running the kitchen.
• Lead and mentor kitchen staff during service.
• Ensure all dishes meet specifications and quality standards.
• Assist with menu writing and adapting offerings for the business.

As Sous Chef, you will support your Head Chef in leading our talented kitchen team while ensuring the correct procedures are followed and specifications for each dish are precisely met. You will utilise the flexibility enabled by our menu writing processes, to help adapt our offer to meet the needs of our business and our guests.
