Job summary

Marston’s PLC in Chippenham is hiring a Sous Chef to lead from the pass, support the Head Chef and drive hot, quality food to the table every service.

You’ll manage the kitchen during busy periods, develop the team, and maintain the highest standards of food and service. The role offers flexible hours, a friendly atmosphere, and strong opportunities to grow within a people-first pub company.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role or as a Commis Chef considered advantageous.
• Ability to assist the Head Chef in managing all aspects of the kitchen.
• Capable of running the line during busy service.The ability to lead and develop the kitchen team.

Responsibilities

• Be in the action in the kitchen, second in command to the Head Chef.
• Cover for the Head Chef when not on shift.
• Run the kitchen line during service and ensure smooth operation.
• Oversee and develop the kitchen team to maintain high standards of food and service.

As Sous Chef you’ll:Be right in the action in our kitchen, second in command to our Head Chef – stepping up and covering for them when they’re not on shift.

• Offer previous branded experience in a similar role or as an experienced Commis Chef
• Assist our Head Chef in managing all aspects of the kitchen
• Accountable for running the line during service
• Oversee, organise, and encouragethe kitchen team - helping to develop their skills
• Be passionateabout maintaining the highest standards of food and service
