Job summary

JINGDONG Logistics is seeking a Sorting Team Leader in Milton Keynes to oversee the PM shift sortation team. You will drive daily volume, productivity and quality targets while managing manpower across lines and ensuring timely handovers to outbound and line haul teams.

The role requires previous supervisory experience, strong leadership and excellent communication. You will work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on safety, accuracy and continuous improvement of sortation processes.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in warehouse, parcel sortation or logistics.
• Previous Team Leader or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication and people-management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume PM operation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the PM shift sortation team to achieve daily volume, productivity and quality targets.
• Allocate manpower across sortation lines and work areas based on parcel volume and priorities.
• Conduct shift briefings and communicate targets, workload and safety requirements.
• Monitor attendance and staffing levels, escalating shortages promptly.
• Monitor parcel flow and resolve backlogs, missorts and bottlenecks.
• Ensure sortation activities meet outbound and line haul cut-off times.
• Provide coaching and corrective guidance on performance.
• Ensure parcels are scanned, handled and sorted per SOPs.
• Coordinate with inbound, outbound, transportation and line haul teams for smooth handovers.
• Manage agency workers and new starters during shifts; support training.
• Maintain shift records: attendance, headcount, productivity, backlog and exceptions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to boost sortation efficiency.
