Boston Children's Hospital in Weymouth is seeking a part-time ultrasound technologist to perform prescribed examinations and ensure high-quality imaging. You will review requisitions, select equipment, and communicate with patients and families to optimize care.

Required are an Associate degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, ARDMS eligibility (certification within a year), and BLS. On-site duties support daily operations in a dynamic imaging department.

Formación

• ARDMS eligibility required or if eligible, must obtain ARDMS certification within one year of hire.
• Physics board passed is required.
• BLS certification is required.

Position Summary

Performs ultrasound examinations as prescribed by a physician

Key Responsibilities

• Examinations/Procedures
• Performs routine ultrasound examinations as prescribed by a physician.
• Reviews and evaluates requisitions for ultrasound imaging procedures, abstracting data from patient charts and determining appropriateness of procedure prescribed given diagnosis and clinical signs for routine examinations.
• Selects appropriate equipment and technical factors to identify pathologic and normal anatomy.
• Assesses patients' and parents' physical and emotional status and ability to respond to instructions and develops plan for adjusting to patients' specific needs.
• Follows QC/Data Integrity Workflow process.
• Practices High Reliability Communication techniques.
• Responds to the uniqueness and clinical condition of the patient.
• Creates a supportive environment for the patient and the family.
• Promotes a positive work environment in compliance with ETU.
• Identifies and reports equipment malfunctions.
• Assists senior technologists in organizing and maintaining daily operations of section.
• Provides instruction on pediatric ultrasound procedures and techniques to residents, fellows, and students as requested.
• Participates in departmental and hospital meetings.
• Completes all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Complies with ETU.

Minimum Qualifications
Education:

• Associates degree, Diagnostic Medical Sonography

Licensure/ Certifications:

• Must be Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Registry eligible with at least physics board passed.
• Eligible for certification by the ARDMS.
• Must meet, successfully complete, and maintain the ARDMS certification and registration within one year of hire date
• BLS certification.
