Job description

Parity is one of the world's most experienced core blockchain infrastructure companies, having built and pioneered some of the most advanced technologies in the blockchain sector. Parity was founded by Dr. Gavin Wood, co-founder and former CTO of Ethereum, the primary engineer behind the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), inventor of the Solidity programming language, and primary author of the Ethereum Yellowpaper.

Based in Berlin, London, and Lisbon, Parity has built clients for Ethereum, Bitcoin, and Zcash and has pioneered a completely new, next-generation blockchain protocol with Polkadot and the framework it’s built with, Substrate. Parity builds the open-source technologies needed to power an unstoppable, decentralised web—known as Web3—and helps developers and organisations implement and build upon the Web3 tech stack.

With a remote-first, global team, Parity is building open-source technologies for developers and organisations to implement and build upon. Our Web3 tech stack includes Polkadot, Substrate, and Kusama.

People in our collective are:

  • Highly motivated to contribute to Parity’s mission and be part of something bigger

  • Excited to work on projects that are groundbreaking and complex

  • Autonomous workers that self-initiate, but also collaborate well with others

  • Taking maximum accountability and having minimum ego at work

  • Comfortable with chaos and adapting to the ever-changing Web3 space

  • Continuously educating themselves about Parity and the wider ecosystem

About the team:

The Solutions Engineering is focused on enhancing the Polkadot ecosystem by developing and maintaining tools, providing support to builders and businesses, and ensuring smooth releases of the Polkadot SDK and Runtime. Timely delivery of new features and tools and user support are pivotal for enhancing Polkadot's success and reputation.

While supporting major projects like Polkadot Hub/Cloud and the Polkadot Mobile App, they assist builders and businesses in the Polkadot ecosystem. The team also supports the Polkadot SDK and Runtime release workflow and maintains community relationships. Additionally, they coordinate and lead new strategic initiatives and projects.

About the position:

As Senior Solutions Engineer you should have extensive experience in Rust and Solidity, be proficient with Foundry or Hardhat, and possess a solid understanding of MetaMask and Ledger security. Additionally, you should have deep knowledge of the Polkadot ecosystem. Your responsibilities will include spearheading large technical projects that leverage the new EVM-compatible blockchain features of the Polkadot runtime, developing and maintaining robust blockchain client API specifications, planning and implementing integration tools, and overseeing their upkeep. You will also provide comprehensive technical support to both internal and external stakeholders.

About you:
  • Solid knowledge of Rust (+3 years), Typescript (+2 years) and Solidity.

  • Familiarity with the most commonly used Ethereum development environment in particular Foundry or Hardhat.

  • Understanding of Ethereum user interactions, including MetaMask wallet usage and Ledger hardware wallet security.

  • Ability to develop and utilize benchmarking tools for a EVM compatible blockchain runtime including performance assessment against Ethereum and other EVM solutions.

  • Knowledge of the Polkadot ecosystem.

  • Proficiency in creating and stabilizing blockchain client API specifications, including support for different runtimes.

  • Skill in planning and executing maintenance for integration tools and tech support, including resource optimization.

  • Ability to provide general technical support and assistance to external stakeholders, ensuring timely responses.

About working for us:
  • Competitive remuneration packages based on iterative market research, including tokens (where legally possible)

  • “Future of work” environment that’s remote-first and self-initiating with flexible hours

  • Team mates that are genuinely excited about their impact and projects

  • Access to the brightest minds in this space to learn about Web3 and develop your skills and knowledge while on the job

  • Becoming part of the wider ecosystem (career and networking opportunities)

  • Team and company-wide retreats

  • Work laptop

Those joining our collective as an employee in Germany, Portugal, Switzerland and the U.K. also enjoy benefits such as health care, parental leave, PTO (28 days per year), local team events, yearly L&D budget, and language classes.
