About the Role

My client is looking for a Data Platform & Operations Engineer to ensure the stability, performance, and continuous improvement of their enterprise data platforms. Working with the Data Platform & Operations Manager, you will manage cloud-based data infrastructure, implement automation, and optimize performance to support a scalable and resilient data ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

1. Maintain and enhance the reliability and performance of cloud-based data platforms.
2. Implement automation for infrastructure provisioning, monitoring, and incident response.
3. Collaborate with data engineering teams to optimize data pipelines and platform performance.
4. Ensure robust observability through logging, alerting, and monitoring solutions.
5. Manage access controls, security configurations, and compliance within the data platform.
6. Analyze system metrics to drive platform improvements and implement optimizations.
7. Stay up to date with emerging technologies and standard methodologies to enhance our data stack.

Qualifications

1. Hands-on experience managing and optimizing data platforms in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
2. Strong experience with dbt, Snowflake, and Python.
3. Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.
4. Expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and CI/CD standard processes.
5. Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, etc.).
6. Knowledge of database performance tuning and data pipeline optimization.
7. Ability to collaborate multi-functionally.
