Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Identify cross-ART dependencies, integration points, shared services and technical risks.
• Contribute to PI Planning, solution demos and backlog for NFRs.

Job Title: Solution Architect - Government Client

Location: London 2/3 days a week on site

Salary/Rate: Up to £600 Daily
Start Date: November Start
Job Type: Initial 6 month contract Inside IR35

We have an exciting opportunity now available with one of our enterprise government clients! They are currently looking for a skilled Azure Solution Architect to join their team for an initial six-month contract.

*Specifically we need solution architect who had worked on GDS delivery and integration with Powerplatform via Azure Service BUS.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives:

We are seeking an experienced, enterprise-level Solution Architect to lead end-to-end solution architecture for a large-scale Government Digital Service programme. The programme is delivered at scale through multiple Agile Release Trains (ARTs) and spans a diverse technology landscape including Scala for front end development, Microsoft Power Platform, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Microsoft Azure and enterprise integration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own the end-to-end solution architecture for the programme, providing a unified, coherent design across multiple ARTs and delivery teams.
• Define and maintain the solution vision, solution intent, architecture runway and target/transition state architectures.
• Act as Solution Architect within a SAFe (or equivalent scaled agile) operating model, collaborating with Release Train Engineers, System Architects, Product Management and Solution Management.
• Identify and manage cross-ART dependencies, integration points, shared services and technical risks; resolve design conflicts between trains.
• Contribute to PI Planning, solution demos and Inspect & Adapt events, shaping architectural enablers and Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs) in the backlog.

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Significant experience leading enterprise-scale solution design for complex, multi-team programmes.
• Proven experience as a Solution Architect across multiple ARTs or delivery streams within a SAFe or scaled agile environment.
• Strong hands-on understanding of Microsoft Azure architecture and services (PaaS, containers/AKS, serverless, networking, security, DevOps).
• Solid experience of Microsoft Power Platform and Dynamics 365 / M365 solution design, including Dataverse, ALM, environment strategy and platform governance.
• Experience of architecting systems built with Scala (or other JVM languages) and microservices / cloud-native design.
• Deep expertise in integration architecture: RESTful APIs, API management, event-driven architecture, messaging and enterprise integration patterns.
• Demonstrable experience presenting and defending designs at Design Authorities / Architecture Review Boards and working alongside Enterprise Architects.
• Experience delivering UK public sector digital services and familiarity with the GDS Service Standard, Technology Code of Practice and government assurance processes.
• Strong grasp of security architecture, NCSC guidance, data protection (UK GDPR) and non-functional design (performance, availability, resilience, accessibility).
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to create a compelling architectural narrative and influence at senior level.
