Job summary

Government Digital Services in London is seeking a seasoned Solution Architect to lead enterprise-scale architecture initiatives across public sector digital services. The role requires delivering architecture across multiple Agile Release Trains, with strong Azure, Power Platform, and integration expertise.

You will engage with Enterprise Architects and Architecture Review Boards to ensure governance and compliance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Solution Architecture delivering enterprise-scale solutions.
• Proven SAFe experience across multiple ARTs within SAFe environments.
• Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure, including PaaS, AKS, containers, serverless, networking, security, and DevOps.
• Extensive experience designing solutions on Microsoft Power Platform, Dynamics 365, and Microsoft 365, including Dataverse, ALM, governance, and environment strategy.
• Strong background in Scala/JVM technologies, microservices, and cloud-native architectures.
• Deep expertise in integration architecture, REST APIs, API Management, event-driven systems, messaging, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Experienced presenting solutions to Architecture Review Boards and collaborating with Enterprise Architects.
• Strong knowledge of UK public sector digital services, GDS standards, Technology Code of Practice, and government assurance processes.
• Expertise in security architecture, NCSC guidance, UK GDPR, and non-functional requirements including performance, resilience, availability, and accessibility.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.

Solution Architect | Government Digital Services

Location: London, 2-3 Days / Week

Ideally will have experience working in the Public Sector / Government Industry.

• 5+ years in Solution Architecture, delivering enterprise-scale solutions.
• Proven Solution Architect experience across multiple Agile Release Trains (ARTs) within SAFe environments.
• Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure, including PaaS, AKS, containers, serverless, networking, security, and DevOps.
• Extensive experience designing solutions on Microsoft Power Platform, Dynamics 365, and Microsoft 365, including Dataverse, ALM, governance, and environment strategy.

• TOGAF or equivalent Enterprise Architecture certification.

• Experience with ArchiMate, Sparx EA, LeanIX, Terraform, and Bicep.
• Background in large-scale legacy modernization and data migration programmes.
• Knowledge of GOV.UK Design System, GOV.UK Notify, GOV.UK Pay, and GOV.UK One Login.
