Nuffield Health is seeking a Solution Architect to lead transformation in our Hospitals, designing solutions to support end-to-end improvements and automation. You will ensure architectures align with enterprise standards and support care, experience, efficiency, and impact.

The role requires strong technical leadership, experience with healthcare systems, and API-centric integration across enterprise platforms.

Qualifications

• Experience designing healthcare architectures in enterprise environments.
• Experience in healthcare transformation and service modernisation.
• Experience with digital transformation and modernisation of services.
• Experience working with third-party solution providers and vendors.
• Experience of CRM portfolios, especially Salesforce.
• Knowledge of data mapping and standardisation.
• Using architecture to improve user experience and backend functions.
• Strong API-centric architectures and integration strategies.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery across applications, platforms, and infrastructure.
• Define target and transitional architectures aligned to enterprise strategy.
• Design and lead system integrations, including APIs and data exchange patterns.
• Create high-quality architecture artefacts, including designs and interface specifications.
• Collaborate with delivery teams, SMEs, and third-party suppliers to ensure deliverability.
• Present designs to Technical Design Authority (TDA) and secure approval.
• Provide ongoing architectural assurance and guidance during delivery.

Join us as a Solution Architect and help lead transformation in our Hospitals, designing solutions to support end to end hospital conversion improvements and automation. You'll ensure architectures are aligned to enterprise standards and support our wider goals of improving care, experience, efficiency, and impact.

As our Solution Architect, you will:

• Lead technical discovery, analysing existing applications, platforms, and infrastructure across the estate
• Develop a clear understanding of current-state architecture, including dependencies, data flows, and integration points
• Define target and transitional architectures aligned to enterprise strategy and programme objectives
• Assess how systems and services need to be adapted, enhanced, or replaced to meet future capability needs
• Design and lead system integrations, including APIs, messaging patterns, and data exchange mechanisms
• Create high-quality architecture artefacts, including solution designs, diagrams, and interface specifications
• Collaborate with delivery teams, SMEs, and third-party suppliers to ensure solutions are practical and deliverable
• Identify and manage technical risks, assumptions, and dependencies throughout the lifecycle
• Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, resilient, and maintainable
• Present designs to Technical Design Authority (TDA), incorporating feedback and securing approval
• Support the transition into delivery, providing ongoing architectural assurance and guidance

You'll bring strong technical leadership, strategic thinking, and transformation experience across enterprise platforms.

To succeed as a Solution Architect, you’ll bring:

• Proven experience designing and delivering Healthcare systems, ideally within complex enterprise environments
• Experience in Healthcare transformation and service modernisation
• Experience of digital transformation and modernisation of services
• Experience working with third-party solution providers and vendors
• Experience of commercial CRM application portfolios, especially Salesforce
• Experience of data mapping and standardisation
• A track record of using technical architecture and principles to improve the end user experience and backend functionality of products and platforms
• Strong knowledge of API-centric architectures and integration strategies
• Ability to balance competing priorities and deliver against tight timelines
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences
• Confidence operating across organisational, technical, and stakeholder boundaries
• A strategic mindset, able to see the bigger picture and align architecture to long‑term business objectives
