Job summary

Nuffield Health in London is recruiting a Solution Architect to lead transformation across hospital estates, designing end-to-end solutions that support care, experience, efficiency and impact. Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery across applications, platforms and infrastructure.
• Define target and transitional architectures aligned to strategy.
• Assess needs and plan adaptations or replacements for future capabilities.
• Design and lead system integrations, APIs and data exchanges.
• Create architecture artefacts and interface specifications.
• Collaborate with delivery teams and vendors for practical solutions.
• Present designs to TDA and secure approval.
• Provide ongoing architectural assurance during delivery.

You’ll ensure architectures are aligned to enterprise standards and support our wider goals of improving care, experience, efficiency, and impact.As our Solution Architect, you will:Lead technical discovery, analysing existing applications, platforms, and infrastructure across the estateDevelop a clear understanding of current-state architecture, including dependencies, data flows, and integration pointsDefine target and transitional architectures aligned to enterprise strategy and programme objectivesAssess how systems and services need to be adapted, enhanced, or replaced to meet future capability needsDesign and lead system integrations, including APIs, messaging patterns, and data exchange mechanismsCreate high-quality architecture artefacts, including solution designs, diagrams, and interface specificationsCollaborate with delivery teams, SMEs, and third-party suppliers to ensure solutions are practical and deliverableIdentify and manage technical risks, assumptions, and dependencies throughout the lifecycleEnsure solutions are scalable, secure, resilient, and maintainablePresent designs to Technical Design Authority (TDA), incorporating feedback and securing approvalSupport the transition into delivery, providing ongoing architectural assurance and guidanceYou’ll bring strong technical leadership, strategic thinking, and transformation experience across enterprise platforms.To succeed as a Solution Architect, you’ll bring:Proven experience designing and delivering Healthcare systems, ideally within complex enterprise environmentsExperience in Healthcare transformation and service modernisationExperience of digital transformation and modernisation of servicesExperience working with third-party solution providers and vendorsExperience of commercial CRM application portfolios, especially SalesforceExperience of data mapping and standardisationA track record of using technical architecture and principles to improve the end user experience and backend functionality of products and platformsStrong knowledge of API-centric architectures and integration strategiesAbility to balance competing priorities and deliver against tight timelinesExcellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiencesConfidence operating across organisational, technical, and stakeholder boundariesA strategic mindset, able to see the bigger picture and align architecture to long-term business objectivesHelping you feel good.We want you to love coming to work, feeling healthy, happy and valued.
