Job summary

Anson McCade seeks an experienced Solution Architect in London. You will be responsible for architecture artefacts, technical direction, and senior stakeholder engagement across diverse projects and technology stacks.

The role combines hands-on software engineering with architectural leadership, driving architectural guardrails and delivering high-impact designs in a hybrid setup.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Create and assure architecture artefacts including high-level designs and option papers.

Solution Architect

Location: London / Hybrid (approx. 2 days per week)

Salary: Up to £100,000

We’re looking for an experienced Solution Architect with a strong software engineering background to join a leading technology and consulting environment, working on complex transformation programmes across a variety of sectors.

This is a great opportunity for an architect who enjoys staying close to engineering while taking ownership of solution design, technical direction and senior stakeholder engagement.

The role

• Creating and assuring key architecture artefacts, including High-Level Designs, Technical Options Papers and key design decisions
• Working closely with engineering teams, often acting as the lead technical SME
• Defining technical vision and establishing architectural guardrails
• Supporting senior stakeholders with cases for change, cost estimation and detailed planning
• Working across multiple architectural domains, including Business, Data, Application, Technology and Security
• Working across varied projects, clients and technology stacks

What we’re looking for:

• Strong hands-on Software Engineering background
• Experience leading engineering teams delivering applications and services
• Proven Solution Architecture experience
• Strong understanding and practical application of architecture and delivery methodologies
• Ability to operate across architectural domains, with deeper expertise in at least one area
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Confident working with multiple technical and business stakeholders in fast-paced environments

Experience may include:

Cloud: AWS, Azure, GCP

Architecture: TOGAF, Zachman, MODAF

Delivery: SAFe, Scrum, Kanban

Modelling: UML, ArchiMate, Ardoq

Wider platforms including Oracle, IBM and Salesforce
