Job summary

Interaction Engineering is seeking an experienced SolidWorks Design Engineer to join our team. You will produce accurate 3D models, engineering drawings and manufacturing information for roofing and metalwork projects, collaborating with production and installation teams to ensure designs are practical and cost-effective.

The role requires strong CAD skills, attention to detail and the ability to interpret drawings and specifications.

Qualifications

Proven experience using SolidWorks in a design or engineering role.
Strong knowledge of 3D modelling and 2D technical drawing.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Experience producing detailed drawings for manufacture or fabrication.
Good understanding of engineering principles, materials and manufacturing processes.
Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach.
Good communication and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

Produce 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks.
Develop designs for roofing components and related products.
Prepare manufacturing drawings, fabrication details and cutting lists.
Interpret architectural drawings, technical specifications and customer requirements.
Ensure designs are accurate and suitable for production and installation.
Liaise with production, project management, suppliers and installation teams.
Make design amendments based on project feedback.
Support design development and continuous improvement.
Maintain CAD files, revisions and documentation.
Ensure designs comply with technical requirements and standards.
