Job summary

Theo James Recruitment Ltd is seeking a CAD Design Engineer in Hartlepool to join a manufacturing team. You will produce detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks for bespoke sheet metal and architectural projects.

The role calls for strong SolidWorks proficiency, experience with sheet metal components, and the ability to ensure designs are practical for fabrication in a busy environment. Hybrid working may be possible for the right candidate.

Qualifications

Strong proficiency in SolidWorks essential; sheet metal functionality preferred.
Experience designing sheet metal components and architectural metalwork.
Ideally 5+ years in a CAD Design Engineer role, with 3–4 years considered for suitable candidates.
Ability to produce accurate 2D drawings and 3D models for manufacture.

Responsibilities

Producing detailed 3D models, assemblies and 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
Designing sheet metal components, fabricated assemblies and architectural metalwork.
Supporting projects involving facades, rainscreen systems and bespoke metal products.
Creating accurate drawings and technical documentation for manufacturing.
Working closely with production and fabrication teams to ensure designs can be manufactured efficiently.
Supporting design changes, modifications and continuous improvements.
Contributing to projects involving security fencing, gates and metal enclosures where required.
