Solicitor - Conduct Risk - Bristol - 1-3 Years PQE
Location: Bristol
Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time (Hybrid working available)
Salary: £50,000 to £70,000

A respected law firm is seeking a Conduct Risk Lawyer with 1-3 years' post-qualification experience to join its Risk & Compliance team in Bristol. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to an internal legal advisory function, supporting professional conduct and regulatory compliance across the business.

The Role

You\'ll be part of the Conduct Risk Team, providing expert guidance on legal and regulatory matters that impact the firm\'s operations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the firm\'s professional indemnity claims and liaising with brokers, insurers, and panel lawyers
  • Recording and tracking claims using the firm\'s claims management system
  • Investigating complaints and drafting responses to complainants and regulatory bodies
  • Analysing compliance failures and recommending remedial actions
  • Advising on professional conduct issues and regulatory developments
  • Supporting policy updates and contract reviews (including client SLAs)
  • Responding to conduct risk queries and ensuring SLA compliance
  • Collaborating with other business services teams to deliver a cohesive compliance function
Candidate Requirements

This role is suited to a qualified solicitor with:

  • 1-3 years PQE, ideally with a professional indemnity fee-earning background
  • Previous experience in a Risk and Compliance team (preferred)
  • Familiarity with contract reviews (beneficial)
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • A proactive, collaborative, and detail-oriented approach
  • Ability to manage sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism
