Job summary

Chadwick Nott is seeking a Senior Associate for its Professional & Financial Risks team in Bristol. You will manage a varied caseload in professional indemnity, advising on regulatory issues, risk management, and policy coverage for insurers, while supporting business development and mentoring junior colleagues.

Senior Associate - Professional & Financial Risks - Bristol - NQ

Location: Bristol (Hybrid)

Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time

Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 (depending on experience)

A highly regarded law firm is seeking a NQ to join its Professional & Financial Risks (PFR) team in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a top‑ranked team (Chambers & Partners and Legal 500) handling complex professional indemnity litigation and advisory work for leading insurers and professional services firms.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing a varied caseload of professional indemnity claims and related matters, including:

• Defending liability claims pre‑ and post‑litigation
• Advising on regulatory issues, risk management, and Ombudsman complaints
• Handling policy coverage issues for insurers
• Working on matters involving a wide range of professions, with claim values from tens of thousands to multi‑millions
• Delivering high‑quality, timely outputs to clients in line with service level agreements
• Contributing to the development and improvement of team processes and procedures
• Capturing and collating management information for clients
• Supporting business development initiatives and client relationship management
• Coaching and developing junior team members

Candidate Requirements

This role is suited to a qualified lawyer with:

• Professional indemnity litigation experience (insurance experience desirable but not essential)
• Strong knowledge of legal procedures and litigation processes
• Ability to deliver legal and commercial solutions collaboratively with clients and colleagues
• Proven track record of managing and developing client relationships
• Commitment to business development and identifying commercial opportunities
