Job summary

Blue Gem Holdings Ltd. in London seeks a Group People Manager to own HR strategy, build systems and run the full employee lifecycle, reporting to the Chief of Staff. You will be the trusted adviser to the leadership team and ensure full UK employment law compliance with a hands-on, high-trust approach.

With no wider HR team, this role shapes strategy and also runs disciplinary hearings, policy updates and payroll coordination, while embracing AI tools to streamline processes.

Qualifications

• At least five years' experience in an HR Generalist role, handling the full employee lifecycle.
• A degree and a CIPD Level 5 qualification; CIPD Level 7 or other HR certifications are an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of the hiring process, UK employment law and the ACAS Code of Practice.
• Experience developing and implementing HR policies, processes and systems, including system rollout.
• Excellent judgement, problem-solving and ability to work autonomously with external advice.

Responsibilities

• HR strategy set with the Chief of Staff and implemented pragmatically.
• Act as trusted HR adviser to leadership, including reporting at Board level.
• Introduce a new HR system and AI tools, mapping processes across lifecycle.
• End-to-end recruitment, onboarding, paperwork, inductions, training and appraisals.
• Employee relations: advising managers on conduct, grievances, absence and change.
• Lead organisational change and maintain GDPR-compliant HR records.
• Monthly payroll inputs and HR reporting including headcount and turnover.
