Job summary

Osborne Appointments are recruiting for an experienced Soldering Technician to join a well-established client based in Wellingborough. This temporary role runs until Christmas with an immediate start available.

You will perform manual soldering on surface mount and through-hole components, inspect with a microscope, and support rework tasks using hand tools. Experience with BGA rework is desirable and IPC 7711/7721 knowledge is useful.

Qualifications

• Experience with manual soldering on surface mount or through-hole components.
• Familiar with BGA rework principles is desirable.
• Knowledge of IPC 7711/7721 standards will be useful.
• Experienced in using a microscope.

Responsibilities

• Removal, replacement and reflow of BGA components using an automated hot air convection machine.
• Surface mount land preparation for PCB and ICs using desoldering methods.
• Reballing BGA ICs; removal of solder spheres then attaching new ones using automated equipment.
• Visual inspection for any circuit shorts or insufficient solder after placement process using a microscope.
• Carry out board modifications based on customer specifications
• Maintain strict adherence to quality processes and highlight any gaps or improvement opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and procedures
