Job summary

GRUPOTEC seeks an O&M Field Electrician to join photovoltaic projects near Ipswich. The role covers preventive and corrective maintenance on PV installations, diagnosing and repairing faults in low-voltage systems, modules, trackers, and related components.

The successful candidate will follow the O&M Manual, perform visual inspections, maintain electrical equipment, and complete daily documentation. A minimum of 3 years PV/BESS experience and relevant certifications are required.

Qualifications

• Education in electrical field or renewable energy.
• BS 7671:2018 (18th Edition) certification.
• JIB Gold Card or equivalent.
• HV Authorised Person training is valued.
• H&S training (First Aid + EMSS/CSCS/SMSTS) preferred.
• Minimum 3 years PV/BESS project experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and cleaning of PV installations per O&M Manual, including modules, mounting structures, trackers, string combiner boxes (low voltage), cabling, inverters, measuring equipment, and communication systems.
• Diagnose and repair minor faults in low-voltage systems, PV modules, trackers, cabling, etc., carrying out corrective maintenance tasks as required.
• Conduct visual inspections of system components, identifying faults and defects, and reporting findings to management.
• Maintain and inspect electrical components and equipment, including inverters, distribution panels, communication panels, and DC/AC protection panels, in accordance with maintenance manuals and schedules.
• Inspect and repair wiring, connectors, terminals, and related components.
• Complete work orders, attendance records, and digital documentation in line with established procedures.

We are currently seeking an O&M Field Electrician to join our photovoltaic projects near Ipswich.

The selected candidate will carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on photovoltaic installations in line with the O&M Manual. This includes inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing faults in low-voltage systems, photovoltaic modules, trackers, cabling, and related components.

Main Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and cleaning of photovoltaic installations in accordance with the O&M Manual, including modules, mounting structures, trackers, string combiner boxes (low voltage), cabling, inverters, measuring equipment, and communication systems, using hand tools, measuring instruments, thermal imaging cameras, etc.
• Diagnose and repair minor faults in low-voltage systems, photovoltaic modules, trackers, cabling, etc., carrying out corrective maintenance tasks as required.
• Conduct visual inspections of system components, identifying faults and defects, and reporting findings to management.
• Maintain and inspect electrical components and equipment, including inverters, distribution panels, communication panels, and DC/AC protection panels, in accordance with maintenance manuals and schedules.
• Inspect and repair wiring, connectors, terminals, and related components.
• Complete work orders, attendance records, and digital documentation in line with established procedures.

Minimum Requirements

Profile Required

• Education in the electrical field or renewable energy.
• BS 7671:2018 (18th Edition) certification.
• JIB Gold Card or equivalent.
• Additional training as HV Authorised Person will be highly valued.
• H&S training (First Aid + EMSS Card, CCNSG, CSCS Card, or SMSTS).
• Minimum of 3 years’ previous experience in PV/BESS projects performing similar functions (experience highly valued).
• Solid knowledge of PV and BESS plant equipment, technologies, communication architecture, and sensors.
