Job summary

Astute People is recruiting a Solar Field Service Engineer in Nottinghamshire and surrounding areas. You will monitor solar plant performance, conduct planned and reactive maintenance, and support HV tasks where qualified.

A City and Guilds/NVQ in electrical disciplines plus 18th edition is preferred, with a UK driving licence essential. The role offers a salary up to £42,000 per year, on-call allowances, a company van with fuel card, 25 days leave plus bank holidays, private health insurance,

Qualifications

Experience in industrial or utility scale solar preferred; electrical background if no solar experience.
18th edition wiring regulations.
HV Authorization advantageous but not essential.
Full UK driving licence essential due to remote sites.

Responsibilities

Take primary responsibility for solar plant performance and site availability.
Perform pre-planned and reactive maintenance across solar farms, including electrical tasks and HV if qualified.
Resolve work tickets and report back to line manager; compile reports of completed works.
Liaise with internal/external teams including LV/HV personnel and subcontractors.
Mentor and train junior technicians as required.
Participate in on-call rota (1 weekend in 5) for non-working hours.
