Job summary

FDO Consulting Limited seeks a Field Service Engineer (Solar) in the Gloucester area. You must be a qualified electrician to maintain and service ground-mounted solar farms, with training offered for solar PV specifics.

The role involves site travel for preventive and emergency maintenance, electrical inspections, and ensuring safe operation of HV/DC systems. A full driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

Job description

Field Service Engineer, Solar, Qualified Electrician required, Gloucester based, £ 36000 + car + fuel card etc (the salary will be higher if you have High Voltage expertise).

Expanding company in the Solar PV space are looking for a Field Engineer who will be responsible for the operations and maintenance of a number of ground mounted solar farms. A qualified electrician, you will either have knowledge of solar farms or be looking to get into this area (training is provided as long as you are already a qualified electrician).

Key responsibilities include -

• Maintaining the operation and production of the solar parks.
• Travel to local sites as required for preventative, scheduled and emergency maintenance.
• Provide high level support and maintenance.
• Electrical inspection of the plant, to include DC and LH/HV sides of the production.
• Testing and resolution of electrical systems.
• Conduct regular visits to sites.
• Adhere to H&S standards.
• Work with the Senior Engineer to rectify problems and issues.

To be considered you will have -

• Experience in mechanical or electrical maintenance.
• A recognised electrical qualification - C&G 2391 Inspection and Testing preferred.
• A can do attitude.
• An interested in Solar PV.
• A driving license.

This role covers a number of sites in the Gloucester area so you must live within an easy/ short commute and have a full driving license.

Salary is likely to be 36000 + Over time + fully expensed vehicle. The salary will be higher if you have high voltage experience.
