Job summary

FDO Consulting Limited in Gloucester is seeking a Field Service Engineer who is a qualified electrician to maintain and service solar farms. You will travel to client sites and be responsible for operation, maintenance and electrical inspections across DC and LH/HV systems.

Training is provided for those moving into solar PV; a valid driving licence is essential and a recognised electrical qualification (C&G 2391 preferred). The role offers a fully expensed company car or similar transport.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical or electrical maintenance.
• A recognised electrical qualification - C&G 2391 Inspection and Testing preferred.
• A can do attitude.
• An interest in Solar PV.
• A driving license.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining the operation and production of the solar parks.
• Travel to local sites as required for preventative, scheduled and emergency maintenance.
• Provide high level support and maintenance.
• Electrical inspection of the plant, to include DC and LH/HV sides of the production.
• Testing and resolution of electrical systems.
• Conduct regular visits to sites.
• Adhere to H&S standards.
• Work with the Senior Engineer to rectify problems and issues.

Job description

Field Service Engineer, Qualified Electrician required, Gloucester based with travel to client site, £ 30000 - 35000 + car + fuel card etc.

Expanding company in the Solar PV space are looking for a Field Engineer who will be responsible for the operations and maintenance of a number of ground mounted solar farms. A qualified electrician, you will either have knowledge of solar farms or be looking to get into this area (training is provided as long as you are already a qualified electrician).

Key responsibilities include -

• Maintaining the operation and production of the solar parks.

Salary is likely to be in the range £ 30000 - 35000 + fully expensed vehicle.
