Job summary

METLEN Energy & Metals seeks a Project Director (Solar/BESS) to lead end-to-end EPC delivery in the UK & Ireland. You will drive tendering, budgets, procurement and execution across utility-scale Solar PV and BESS projects, ensuring profitability and client satisfaction.

You will coordinate cross-functional teams across Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Finance and Legal, maintaining safety, quality and on-time delivery. Fluent English required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
• 5–10 years of experience in EPC project management.
• Proven track record delivering utility-scale Solar PV projects.
• Strong experience in tendering, contract negotiation and EPC execution.
• Experience in the UK, Ireland or EU is highly desirable.
• Experience across Solar PV and BESS projects.
• Strong commercial and contractual knowledge, including payment terms, LDs, warranties and guarantees.
• Fluency in English.

Responsibilities

• Leading and coordinating tender preparation, including reviewing requirements and client negotiations.
• Developing and approving project budgets, cash flow forecasts and profitability margins.
• Leading EPC contract negotiations covering terms, payment schedules and risk allocation.
• Overseeing procurement of PV modules, inverters, BESS, equipment and subcontractors.
• Providing executive oversight of programme, budget, cash flow, HSE and quality.
• Managing project risks, deviations, change orders and claims.
• Maintaining relationships with clients, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Ensuring commissioning, handover and contractual close-out.
• Preparing progress reports and dashboards for senior management.
• Driving continuous improvement across EPC delivery processes.
