Job summary

Green Recruitment Company is seeking a Project Development Manager to lead UK utility-scale solar PV and BESS projects from origination to Ready-to-Build. You will coordinate land, planning, grid, and commercial workstreams, manage stakeholders, and ensure milestones are met across the development lifecycle, with significant ownership and autonomy.

Candidates should bring strong project management, UK planning knowledge, and a commercially minded approach.

Qualifications

• Experience developing UK utility-scale renewable energy or infrastructure projects.
• Strong experience in solar PV and/or BESS development.
• Good understanding of UK planning and grid connection processes.
• Strong project and stakeholder management skills.
• Commercially minded with ability to assess viability and risks.
• Experience taking projects through to Ready-to-Build is desirable.
• Existing UK renewables, land, planning or grid relationships advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of utility-scale solar and BESS projects from origination to construction readiness.
• Identify and manage project risks, budgets, programs and milestones.
• Manage relationships with landowners, planning authorities, DNOs/TOs, consultants and stakeholders.
• Lead land acquisition, planning, environmental and grid connection processes.
• Coordinate technical studies, site assessments, layouts and project optimisation.
• Support project financial modelling, investment cases and commercial assessments.
• Manage external consultants and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Support procurement, financing, due diligence and transition into construction.
• Monitor UK planning, grid and energy-market developments relevant to the portfolio.
