Job summary

HSBC Holdings plc is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Lead to drive inhouse onboarding and KYC solutions for Corporate and Institutional Banking Client Services. You will design, build, and deliver microservice-based applications in partnership with product teams, ensuring rapid iterations and production-ready quality across global engineering groups.

The role emphasizes strong Java 17+ expertise, deep PostgreSQL knowledge, and leadership to scale high-performing teams while advancing

Qualifications

• Experience building applications using RESTful APIs.
• Developing microservices with iterative releases to production.
• Deep Java experience (17+) and modern Java tooling.
• Strong PostgreSQL database design and schemas.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for cross-functional work.
• Ability to lead large engineering teams and mentor.
• Influence global engineering groups to evolve practices.

Responsibilities

• Build and deliver inhouse onboarding and KYC products for CIB Client Services, from design through to production
• Design solutions using microservice architecture with product teams
• Maintain high cadence of delivery while ensuring production quality
• Collaborate across regions to improve delivery speed and consistency
• Embed engineering principles and contribute to engineering transformation across HSBC
• Shape solution designs aligned to Future State Architecture and promote reuse
• Promote AI capabilities to improve automation in onboarding and KYC processes
• Integrate agentic solutions into the SDLC to improve delivery effectiveness
