Software Engineering Director

Location: London

Salary: £120k - £140K + 3% commission + equity after 1 year

My client, a global AI-powered technology solutions company, is seeking a Software Engineering Director to lead the company's software and product development, drive innovation, and define the technological vision. The director will be responsible for driving innovation, managing technical teams, shaping the product development roadmap, and ensuring the functionality, scalability, and efficiency of our AI-first platform solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Define and oversee the company's technical vision, strategy, and product roadmap.
2. Implement an AI-first approach across products, platforms, and solutions.
3. Manage the P&L for the entire Software Division.
4. Develop products and platforms that support accelerated and sustainable growth.
5. Lead revenue generation activities, including ensuring high-quality bids and proposals.
6. Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of developers, engineers, and IT professionals.

Software Development:

1. Oversee the design, development, and deployment of scalable, secure, and high-quality software solutions.
2. Implement an AI-first software approach.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

1. Collaborate closely with the CEO, COO, C-suite executives, and stakeholders to communicate technical strategies and progress.
2. Serve as a technical advisor for business development and client engagements.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 5+ years in software engineering, technical leadership, or similar roles, with senior management experience.
• Strong background in software development, architecture, and systems design.
• Extensive experience in implementing AI-first software solutions.
• Proven experience in AI development and AIOps implementation.
• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure, etc.) and DevOps tools.
• Ability to scale technical teams and deliver complex projects on time and within budget.
• Experience developing solutions with cloud, web, and mobile components.
• Deep knowledge of cybersecurity, data privacy regulations, and compliance standards.
• In-depth understanding of AI methodologies and learning algorithms.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, React, C#, and cross-platform development.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in telecoms and technology domains.
• Experience developing private-cloud based software products and platforms.
• Familiarity with emerging technologies like AI/ML, blockchain, and multi-band IoT.
