Software Engineering Director

Location: London

Salary: £120k - £140K + 3% commission + equity after 1 year

My client, a global AI-powered technology solutions company, is seeking a Software Engineering Director to lead software and product development, drive innovation, and shape the technological vision. The Director will be responsible for driving innovation, managing technical teams, defining product development roadmaps, and ensuring the functionality, scalability, and efficiency of AI-first platforms and products.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Define and oversee the company's technical vision, strategy, and product roadmap.
2. Implement an AI-first approach across products, platforms, and solutions.
3. Manage the P&L for the entire Software Division.
4. Develop products and platforms to accelerate and sustain growth.
5. Lead revenue activities, including overseeing bids and proposals.
6. Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of developers, engineers, and IT professionals.

Software Development:

1. Oversee design, development, and deployment of scalable, secure, and high-quality software solutions.
2. Implement an AI-first software approach.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

1. Collaborate with the CEO, COO, C-suite executives, and stakeholders to communicate technical strategies and progress.
2. Serve as a technical advisor for business development and client engagements.

Required Skills and Experience:

1. 5+ years in software engineering, technical leadership, or similar roles, including senior management experience.
2. Strong background in software development, architecture, and systems design.
3. Extensive experience implementing AI-first software solutions.
4. Proven experience in AI development and AIOps implementation.
5. Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure, etc.) and DevOps tools.
6. Ability to scale technical teams and deliver complex projects on time and budget.
7. Experience developing solutions with cloud, web, and mobile components.
8. Deep knowledge of cybersecurity, data privacy regulations, and compliance standards.
9. Knowledge of AI methodologies and learning algorithms.
10. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, React, C#, and cross-platform development.

Qualifications:

1. Experience in Telecoms and technology domains.
2. Experience developing private-cloud based software products and platforms.
3. Familiarity with cutting-edge technologies like AI/ML, blockchain, and multi-band IoT.
