Job summary

VoCoVo seeks a Software Engineer to join our UK-based engineering team, contributing to SaaS-driven in-store hardware software. You’ll work in a collaborative agile scrum team, building services in TypeScript/Node and JavaScript for cloud-based management and on-prem hardware integrations.

You will help shape API design, drive code quality, and participate in architectural decision-making with the Technical Lead and Product Manager, visiting offices monthly for key meetings.

Qualifications

• Hands-on backend development using Node.js/TypeScript, including unit and integration testing.
• Full-stack engineering with modern frontend frameworks such as React.
• Experience designing, building and integrating HTTP-based APIs.
• Excellent communication, verbal and written.
• Experience in CI environments with high test automation levels.
• Experience designing data models for SQL/NoSQL databases in production.

Responsibilities

• Develop robust, scalable applications using TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Refine and deliver epics with the team.
• Identify technical risks and implement mitigations.
• Document and justify architectural decisions with evidence.
• Conduct code reviews to maintain high engineering standards.
• Collaborate with the team to shape the product roadmap.
• Mentor junior team members and share knowledge.
