Job summary

The Platforms and Devices team builds computing software platforms and first-party devices; we design and develop technologies to make user interactions faster and more seamless worldwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
• 2 years of experience with Android application development.
• Experience with Kotlin.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with other Core Remote Compose team members to build new functionality in the Remote Compose codebase.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across wear, homescreen app widgets, and other form factors to unblock their use of Remote Compose on novel surfaces.
• Work and iterate on API design with input from the team and community.
• Focus on providing the best user experience for our developer community.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
• 2 years of experience with Android application development.
• Experience with Kotlin.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Experience with API Design, Android Libraries, Declarative Programming and API Development.
• Previous knowledge of Jetpack Compose.
• Familiarity with Android as a platform and have an interest in building libraries targeting developers as our users.
