Job summary

Deliveroo is seeking a Software Engineer to contribute to an ever-evolving, high-scale online food marketplace. You will work with cross-functional teams to improve code quality, system architecture, and production health, while mentoring teammates and participating in hiring processes.

You’ll engage in design decisions, review colleague code, and own significant features, helping to drive scalable software that supports millions of orders daily across a fast-moving business landscape.

Qualifications

• Experience writing web-based applications in any language.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Experience with web architecture at scale (20krpm and above).
• Experience with NoSQL data backends and other (Redis, DynamoDB, ElasticSearch, Memcache).
• Experience solving logistical problems with software.

Responsibilities

• Improve code structure and architecture; review team code.
• Simplify maintenance and operation of production systems.
• Lead from the front on technical execution and collaboration.
• Own larger pieces of work; assist with design and implementation decisions.
• Participate in hiring and interview processes; mentor teammates.
