Job summary

Cadence Design Systems, Inc. in Cambridge, UK, is seeking an early‑career Software Engineer for Clock Tree Synthesis (CTS) within the Innovus R&D team.

You will contribute to high-performance EDA algorithms and AI‑driven design automation while benefiting from strong mentorship in a global, collaborative environment. You will design, implement, and optimise CTS components in C/C++, work with Linux environments, and continuously learn about AI/ML and EDA advances.

Qualifications

• MSc in CS, EE, or related numerate discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong C/C++ programming skills in a Linux/Unix-like environment.
• Solid understanding of core data structures and algorithms; able to reason about complexity.
• Effective problem-solving and ability to communicate findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement CTS algorithms in C/C++, focusing on performance and QoR across diverse designs.
• Debug, optimise, and enhance CTS capabilities within the Innovus platform for reliability and speed.
• Develop AI-driven workflows to explore design trade-offs and reduce manual effort.
• Explore adaptive techniques to improve physical design outcomes across architectures.
• Collaborate with global R&D teams to align technical direction and share results.
