Job summary

Cadence Design Systems in Nottingham is seeking a Software Engineer II to join our product development team. You’ll contribute to design and delivery of next‑generation software for engineering workflows in a collaborative, agile environment.

You’ll develop applications enabling engineers to design, simulate, and analyze complex electro‑mechanical systems, with a focus on quality, maintainability, and future‑proofing using modern tooling and AI assistance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 2–4 years of relevant software development experience, strong candidates invited to apply.
• Experience with C# and the .NET platform; OOP principles; async/await; UI with WPF/XAML.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot or Claude Code.
• Ability to debug, test, and troubleshoot applications; strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software applications using C#, .NET, and WPF.
• Implement features from requirements through design, coding, testing, and release.
• Build UIs with XAML, data binding, and MVVM.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code meeting quality standards.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve defects across components.
• Collaborate with engineers, QA, product managers, and domain experts.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and technical initiatives.
• Develop automated tests and improve reliability and maintainability.
