Job summary

Anglian Water is seeking a skilled C#/.NET engineer to help modernise our Azure services and existing applications. You will design, develop and maintain C#/.NET applications and APIs, taking features from requirements through implementation, testing, deployment and support.

The role blends new development with modernisation, working on Azure Container Apps, Service Bus, MassTransit, and pipelines via Azure DevOps YAML and Bicep. Hybrid work and a strong benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience developing and maintaining applications using C# and modern .NET.
• Understanding API development and asynchronous programming for maintainable code.
• Experience with relational databases, SQL and EF Core.
• Experience writing automated tests to verify changes.
• Experience deploying or supporting applications in Azure across environments.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Git and contributing via code reviews.
• Practical troubleshooting approach: evidence gathering and reasoned solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve C#/.NET applications and APIs, applying Clean Architecture to deliver maintainable, testable code.
• Work with data using EF Core and Azure SQL, guiding service choices like Cosmos DB when appropriate.
• Build and support asynchronous workflows using Azure Service Bus and MassTransit.
• Contribute to Azure DevOps pipelines and Bicep infrastructure for consistent releases.
• Investigate issues using logs and diagnostics and address root causes.
• Gradually replace MVC/Angular interfaces with React.
• Review code and discuss implementation choices to improve engineering practices.
