Job summary

Accelero in Reading—hybrid role with 3 onsite days and 2 from home—seeks a Software Engineer with 3+ years in C# and .NET to build features from day one. You’ll join a collaborative team, grow toward senior responsibilities, and contribute to the full development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' commercial experience with C# and .NET.
• Solid grasp of OOP, design patterns and writing maintainable code.
• Hands-on exposure to CI/CD tooling and automated testing.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum teams.
• Proactive, detail-oriented problem solver with good communication.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain applications using C# and .NET across the full development lifecycle.

Reading, Berkshire | Hybrid (3 days onsite / 2 days WFH)

Our client, a growing business based in Reading, is looking to add a Software Engineer to their team. This is a great opportunity for someone with a few years of C#/.NET experience under their belt to develop new features, learn from experienced engineers, and build towards more senior responsibility over time.

You'll be working on real product features from day one, with plenty of support from a collaborative, experienced team around you.

The Role

• Build and maintain applications using C# and .NET, working across the full development lifecycle
• Write clean, testable code and actively participate in peer code reviews
• Support and contribute to CI/CD pipelines, helping streamline build, test and release processes
• Investigate and fix bugs, and help improve application performance
• Work closely with QA, product and senior engineers to deliver features that meet user needs
• Get involved in sprint planning, backlog refinement and other Agile ceremonies
• Bring ideas to the table; this team values input from every level

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years' commercial experience with C# and .NET
• A solid grasp of OOP principles, design patterns and writing maintainable code
• Some hands-on exposure to CI/CD tooling and automated testing
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum teams
• A proactive, detail-oriented approach to problem-solving
• Strong communication skills and a genuine appetite to keep learning
• Docker or containerisation experience
• Exposure to Azure or another major cloud platform
• Working knowledge of SQL/relational databases
• Ambitions to progress into a more senior engineering role

Hybrid working, with 3 days per week onsite in Reading and 2 days from home.
