Searchability is seeking a Software Engineer in Newark, Nottinghamshire. The role involves designing, developing and maintaining C# and .NET applications, APIs and integrations that support internal operations and customer-facing services.

It’s a hands-on position with ownership in a company investing in its systems and growth. The team works in a hybrid setup (3 days on-site, 2 days from home) and uses a modern Microsoft stack.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial software development experience.
• Strong C# / .NET skills including ASP.NET Core.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and integrations.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain C#/.NET applications and services.
• Build and support RESTful APIs and integrations with third‑party platforms.
• Write clean, secure code and follow coding standards.
• Work across the full SDLC from requirements to deployment and support.
• Identify defects, performance issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Create and maintain automated unit and integration tests.
• Use source control, CI/CD, and peer reviews for releases.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into solutions.
• Support upgrades, optimisation and ongoing maintenance of systems.

THE ROLE

A well-established UK technology solutions business is hiring a Software Engineer to join its in-house IT team. You’ll design, build and support the C# and .NET applications, APIs and integrations that run both internal operations and customer-facing services. THE SOFTWARE ENGINEER ROLE

• Design, develop, test and maintain applications and services using C# and .NET
• Build and support RESTful APIs and integrations between business applications and third-party platforms
• Write clean, documented, secure code in line with agreed standards
• Work across the full SDLC, from requirements and design through to deployment and support
• Investigate and resolve defects, performance issues and integration failures, including root cause analysis
• Build and maintain automated unit and integration tests
• Use source control, peer review and CI/CD to deliver controlled, repeatable releases
• Work with stakeholders, customers and suppliers to turn business requirements into practical solutions
• Support upgrades, optimisation and ongoing maintenance of key systems

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

• 3+ years’ commercial software development experience
• Strong C# / .NET skills, including ASP.NET Core
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs, web services and system integrations
• Good knowledge of SQL, relational databases and Entity Framework
• Understanding of automated testing, debugging, logging and application monitoring
• Familiarity with Agile and DevOps practices
• Awareness of application security, data protection, performance and scalability
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
