Job summary

MCS Group in Belfast is seeking a Software Developer (.NET) to join a hybrid team. You will design and build RESTful Web APIs, delivering a major integration for an international customer and then expanding the backend platform.

You'll work closely with the customer, influence technical decisions, and take ownership of delivering pragmatic solutions within a small engineering team. The role offers hybrid work and a clear path to broader responsibilities.

Qualifications

Are you a C#/.NET Developer who enjoys solving complex integration challenges and having genuine ownership of your work?

We're working with an established Belfast software business that is adding a Backend Software Developer to a small, dedicated engineering team. You'll initially help deliver a major systems integration for a large international customer before moving onto the continued development of a wider business-critical platform.

This isn't a role where you'll simply be handed tickets. You'll work closely with the customer, contribute to technical decisions and help shape how new and existing systems connect.

What you'll be working on

Your first project will involve integrating a new platform with an established back-office system. You'll design and build the Web APIs that connect the two environments, working closely with both technical colleagues and customer stakeholders throughout delivery.

Once the integration is complete, you'll continue developing and improving the wider backend platform, giving you longer-term ownership beyond the initial project.

This would suit someone who enjoys introducing modern approaches while working pragmatically with the systems that already support a complex, live business.

What we're looking for

• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
