Amazon Madrid is seeking talented Software Development Engineers to join multiple dynamic teams. In this role, you will have the opportunity to design, develop, and maintain innovative software solutions that drive impact across our global operations. You will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive and design innovative customer experiences. You will create new solutions in a responsive, flexible and collaborative peer environment. You will participate in designing, prototyping, and building solutions to hard problems in the Amazon ecosystem for our exciting future in consumer devices.
Key job responsibilities
What You’ll Do:
• Design & Develop: Architect and implement scalable, high-performance software systems that support millions of customers worldwide.
• Collaborate & Innovate: Work closely with cross-functional teams to define requirements, design solutions, and deliver features with high quality and efficiency.
• Mentor & Lead: Provide technical mentorship and coaching to junior engineers, fostering professional growth and enhancing team performance.
• Problem Solve: Identify and resolve complex technical issues while ensuring robust system performance and reliability.
• Maintain & Optimize: Participate in code reviews, continuous integration, and agile development practices to improve existing systems and processes.
• Drive Continuous Improvement: Leverage new technologies and best practices to enhance product functionality and user experience.

About the team

- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- 4+ years of full software development life cycle, including code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, Rust, Java or TypeScript.
- Experience in computer science fundamentals (object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis)
- Working experience and knowledge on debugging tools such as GDB, LLDB, ADB, Symbol Servers, Elfutils
- Embedded firmware development experience
- Experience communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features, write technical designs, and discuss product strategy
