Job summary

Experis IT is partnering with a leading Scottish organisation to recruit a hands-on Software Development Coach. You will influence engineering practices across product and enablement teams, delivering secure, resilient and maintainable digital services within a hybrid UK role.

Edinburgh or Glasgow onsite part of each week, with flexible collaboration across the country. You will drive engineering capability, champion AI-assisted development, and help teams adopt modern tooling and platforms

Qualifications

• Hands-on software engineering and technical leadership.
• Experience with AWS, CI/CD, APIs, containers and modern programming languages.
• Cloud-native engineering, automated testing, observability and infrastructure as code.
• Developer platforms, MLOps, AI automation or agentic workflows.
• Coaching agile teams and influencing technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Partner with teams to elevate engineering capability, delivery performance and technical decision-making.
• Enhance developer experience through pragmatic standards, automation, self-service tooling and platform adoption.
• Champion responsible AI-assisted development, including practical use of tools such as Claude.
• Reduce technical debt, security, resilience and knowledge-concentration risks.
• Build strong engineering communities through coaching, workshops and knowledge sharing.
