Job summary

Client Server Limited is hiring a senior Software Developer / Team Lead based in Bracknell. The role combines architectural ownership, hands-on development, and team growth within a global financial services context.

Hybrid work is available, with office days twice a week and substantial remote work options. You will lead architecture and API design, collaborate with Product Managers on roadmaps, and drive modern techniques including AI tooling across the SDLC.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership within a software engineering team
• Backend development with C#/.NET and other OO languages
• System design, distributed systems, microservices
• Frontend experience with Vue.js, React or modern Angular
• SQL and relational databases
• AWS experience with SQS, DynamoDB, S3, ECS and Lambda
• Ownership of CI/CD and release processes, e.g., GitHub Actions
• Experience with AI agentic tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot)
• Ability to explain technical decisions to engineers and business stakeholders
• Payments/FX or regulated industry experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Lead a squad across architecture, development, delivery, and production operations while remaining hands-on with production code
• Own system architecture, API design, technical decisions, design reviews, and code quality
• Partner with Product Managers on roadmaps, delivery plans, and priorities
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, one-to-ones, and feedback to support engineers' development
• Drive continuous improvement and set standards for building, testing, and shipping software
• Champion AI and agentic coding tools across the development lifecycle and drive modern techniques

Salary: £95,000 - 95,000 per year

Requirements

• Strong experience providing technical or team leadership within a software engineering team
• Strong backend development skills with C# .NET; experience with other object-oriented languages may also be considered
• Strong system design experience, particularly with distributed systems and microservices
• Frontend experience with Vue.js, React, or modern Angular
• Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases
• Production experience with AWS, ideally including SQS, DynamoDB, S3, ECS, and Lambda
• Experience owning CI/CD and release processes, such as GitHub Actions
• Hands-on experience with Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar agentic tools, and a clear view of effective AI adoption
• Collaborative and pragmatic approach, strong communication skills, and the ability to explain technical decisions to engineering and business stakeholders
• Experience in payments, FX, or another regulated industry is beneficial
