Job summary

Advanced IT Services (AIT) is seeking a Full Stack Software Developer to own complete applications for internal business systems. You will build front-end and back-end components, integrate with APIs, and apply AI-assisted development tools to improve speed and quality.

The role is office-based in our Nottingham office with on-site parking and a competitive salary of £45,000–£55,000 per year. We actively use AI tools like Claude/ChatGPT and Copilot, and you will review AI-generated code, design

Salary: £45,000 - 55,000 per year

Requirements

• Strong experience developing complete applications, ideally including both front-end and back-end development.
• Ability to demonstrate applications or systems personally developed; personal projects and independently developed applications are welcome.
• Experience with several of the following technologies would be beneficial: JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Next.js or similar frameworks, Node.js, C#/.NET, REST APIs, SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL or MySQL, HTML/CSS, Git/GitHub, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Graph API, OAuth/OpenID Connect, Docker, cloud-hosted applications and API integrations.
• Experience in Microsoft-focused environments would be particularly useful.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude/Claude Code, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Cursor or similar tools would be beneficial.
• Ability to review, debug and improve AI-generated code, with an understanding of software architecture, security and maintainability.
• Comfortable working independently, understanding business operations and turning ideas into practical software.
• Confident discussing requirements with non-developers and comfortable working from business problems without a complete technical specification.
• Interested in automation and AI; pragmatic, security-conscious and comfortable maintaining existing applications as well as developing new ones.
• Willing to take ownership of projects from concept through production.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of our existing internally developed applications and review and understand their AI-assisted codebases.
• Develop new web-based applications and internal business systems, including front-end and back-end components.
• Design and maintain application databases, APIs and integrations between systems.
• Integrate applications with Microsoft 365, Azure and other third-party platforms, using APIs such as Microsoft Graph where appropriate.
• Develop authentication and role-based access control systems.
• Improve the security, reliability and performance of existing applications.
• Deploy and maintain applications in production environments.
• Develop reporting dashboards and management tools, and automate repetitive business processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues.
• Maintain source code using Git and appropriate version-control practices, and produce technical documentation.
• Work with our staff to turn business requirements into working applications.
• Identify opportunities to improve our operations through software and AI.
• Participate in the complete application lifecycle, from discussing ideas and designing solutions to building, deploying and maintaining finished applications.

We are Advanced IT Services (AIT), a growing managed IT services provider delivering IT support, cloud, infrastructure and technology services to organisations across the UK. We are developing our own internal applications to improve business management, automate processes and deliver services, and are seeking a Full Stack Software Developer to help build the next generation of our systems. This hands-on, full-time permanent role offers ownership of complete applications, considerable freedom to shape our software and technology, and direct collaboration with our management and technical teams. We actively use AI-assisted development tools and offer varied projects across IT services, automation, Microsoft 365 and business systems, with scope for the role to grow. The position is primarily office-based at our Nottingham office, with in-person work. Salary is £45,000–£55,000 per year, depending on experience.
