Job summary

djr in Wimbledon is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help build and evolve a large-scale SaaS platform, blending C#/.NET backend with TypeScript/React frontend and AI-enabled development. You will own features end-to-end—from discovery and design through deployment and production—while mentoring peers and advancing secure, observable software and automation practices.

Senior Software Engineer - C#/.NET, React & AI

Up to £80,000 | Central Wimbledon | Hybrid - 2 days per week

We're partnering with an established global technology business that is investing heavily in the next generation of its SaaS platform - and wants experienced Software Engineers who are excited about where modern engineering is heading.

This isn't a role where AI sits in an innovation lab somewhere else in the business.

The engineering organisation is actively embedding AI-assisted development, coding agents and intelligent automation into the software lifecycle, while exploring how LLMs, agents and automation can responsibly improve the products used by its customers.

You'll join a modern Product Engineering environment where you'll have genuine ownership - designing, building, deploying and operating software rather than simply picking tickets from a backlog.

What you'll be doing

• Designing and building modern services, APIs and frontend applications across a large-scale SaaS platform.
• Working primarily with C#/.NET, TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks such as React.
• Helping evolve existing systems towards modular, independently deployable services.
• Taking ownership from initial discovery and technical design through to deployment and production.
• Using AI coding agents across analysis, implementation, testing, debugging, code review and documentation.
• Exploring opportunities to introduce LLMs, automation and intelligent capabilities into real products.
• Building secure, observable and maintainable software within a mature engineering environment.
• Mentoring engineers and helping improve engineering standards, tooling and ways of working.

What we're looking for

You'll be an experienced Software Engineer with strong backend engineering fundamentals and a track record of building production software.

Strong C#/.NET experience would be ideal, although engineers from another modern backend background who genuinely want to work primarily with .NET will be considered.

You should also be comfortable with modern frontend development, relational databases, automated testing, CI/CD and cloud-native engineering.

Experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, event-driven architecture or Infrastructure as Code would be valuable.

You do not need to be an AI Engineer.

What matters is curiosity. If you're already using tools such as Claude, Copilot or other coding agents - or you're genuinely interested in how AI changes the way great software is engineered - you'll fit the direction of the team particularly well.

Experience with LLM APIs, RAG, semantic search, tool calling, structured outputs or AI evaluation would be a bonus rather than a prerequisite.
