Job summary

The AA is seeking a Software Developer in Basingstoke to design, develop, test and release high-quality software solutions that meet real business needs. You will work with users and stakeholders to turn requirements into robust applications across the lifecycle.

You'll use .NET Framework and .NET with C#, RESTful APIs and SQL Server, and help enhance existing applications for reliability and user experience in a hybrid setup with three office days per week.

Qualifications

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft .NET Framework up to v4.8 and Microsoft .NET v10+ with C#.
  • Knowledge of RESTful services using WebAPI.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server, including Azure SQL and TSQL.
  • Good understanding of the software development lifecycle, with the ability to analyse requirements and design effective software solutions.
  • Experience working with web application technologies and navigating, supporting and enhancing existing codebases.
  • A collaborative, ownership led approach, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to organise your work around changing business priorities.

  • Design and document systems, using prototyping where appropriate to validate solutions and user needs.

  • Collaborate across the engineering environment to improve development practices, share knowledge and identify better ways of delivering software.

As a Software Developer within our Chief Technology Office Engineering function, you'll design, develop, test and release high-quality software solutions that meet real business and user needs. Working closely with users and stakeholders, you'll turn requirements into well-crafted applications and take ownership throughout the software development lifecycle.

You'll work across both established and modern Microsoft technologies, including .NET Framework and the latest .NET platform, C#, RESTful APIs and SQL Server. Alongside developing new solutions, you'll also support and enhance existing applications, helping us improve reliability, functionality and the experience we provide to our users.

What Do I Need?

You’ll Bring

  • Experience of Agile software development and developing .NET solutions in cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure.
