The KPMG software licensing function is a cornerstone of our business. Operating from London, we do work that matters, serving the country with diligence and expertise.

KPMG is one of the world's largest and most respected consultancies. We've supported the UK through times of war and peace, prosperity and recession, political and regulatory upheaval. We've proudly stood beside the institutions and businesses which make the UK what it is.

By encompassing a wide range of disciplines across areas such as Customer Experience and Digital, Strategy, Forensic, Risk and Regulatory, People and Talent, and Operational and Financial Transformation, we become immersed in our clients' organisations, applying sector knowledge and technology solutions to deliver the best possible outcomes and get it right first time.

Why Join KPMG as a Software Asset Management - Assistant Manager?

You will work in a virtual and matrix environment to ensure project delivery is executed to the highest standards and risks and issues are effectively identified, managed, and mitigated. This will involve working on multiple concurrent and complex projects.

Your main alignment will be within KPMG UK’s ITAM/SAM team, part of our ‘Contract Performance & Insight’ department.

What will you be doing?

  • Work across multiple complex projects from a diverse client portfolio.
  • Follow KPMG risk management and financial management processes.
  • Engage with client stakeholders regularly.
  • Execute work plans to meet project scope.
  • Collaborate with teams to implement work plans.
  • Adapt working practices based on your audience.
  • Analyze software installation and consumption data.
  • Review software license entitlement and contracts.
  • Prepare reports and client deliverables.
  • Identify commercial risks and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Support clients in mitigation actions.

What will you need to do it?

  • Proven experience in software asset management, including licensing, contractual, technical, and commercial aspects, with strong understanding of software technology and controls.
  • Domain-specific licensing knowledge related to IBM, including application of licensing terms and management using relevant tools (e.g., IBM License Metric Tool, Flexera, ServiceNow).
  • Experience managing internal and external interactions with a client-facing approach.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong organizational and MS Office skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines with confidence and resilience.
  • Experience managing and coaching junior team members.
