Warwickshire County Council is seeking a passionate Social Worker to join the Placement Hub team dedicated to fostering children in care. This role involves collaborating with various teams to ensure children receive quality placements, alongside supporting foster carers, while promoting an inclusive and attentive work environment.
Social Worker - Placement Hub
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Social Worker to join our dynamic Placement Hub team. This role is ideal for someone who believes that children in care deserve the best opportunities to thrive in stable, nurturing environments. Children and young people in care often move homes too frequently, an issue recognized at both national and local levels. The Placement Hub plays a critical role in addressing this issue by identifying and matching children with suitable foster homes, working swiftly and collaboratively with children’s teams and foster carers.
You will be part of a supportive and experienced team comprising two dedicated Social Workers (rotating weekly), six Fostering Social Workers, five Referral and Placement Officers, two Team Managers, and a Wrap Around Service including a Youth Worker and Family Support Workers providing direct support to children, young people, and carers.
At Warwickshire County Council, children and families are at the heart of everything we do. We work restoratively with families, building strong, trusting relationships to help them find sustainable solutions. Our goal is to ensure that children, young people, parents, and carers receive the right support at the right time. We are committed to empowering communities and helping families build on their strengths.
Our broader vision is to make Warwickshire the best it can be for everyone and to create a truly Child Friendly Warwickshire. This is a meaningful and sometimes challenging responsibility, but it motivates our teams to grow, innovate, and succeed.
Currently, Warwickshire is embedding Families First teams that support young people across the county. Our approach emphasizes locality working, multi-disciplinary and multi-agency collaboration supporting the whole family. We build strong partnerships with local services, including Health, Police, and Education. Find out why we are rated good by Ofsted.

You will also support colleagues in writing placement requests and engage in conversations with colleagues and foster carers to best match and support children moving to new homes.
