Job summary

The Alcohol And Drug Service in England is seeking a Social Worker for the Open Access and Assessment Team (OAT). This full-time role (37.5 hours per week) focuses on supporting people at the start of their treatment journey with advice, brief interventions, and comprehensive assessments.

You will join a dedicated multidisciplinary team delivering structured key working support, needle exchange services, and clear pathways into treatment and recovery services.

Qualifications

• Registered social worker with current registration.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Experience in social care or addiction services is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice and brief interventions for clients starting treatment.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop care plans.
• Deliver structured key working support and facilitate pathways into treatment.
• Support needle exchange services as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Guide clients toward treatment and recovery options.

The OAT team plays a vital role in supporting people at the start of their treatment journey by providing:

• Advice and brief interventions
• Comprehensive assessments
• Structured key working support
• Needle exchange services.
• Guidance and pathways into treatment and recovery services

This is an opportunity to work as part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team, helping individuals take their first steps towards positive change.

This is a full-time position (37.5 hours per week).

• Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
• One late evening until 7:30pm on a rota basis

Salary and Benefits

Salary: £26,682 – £32,559 per annum, (depending on experience)
