Job summary

Alcohol & Drug Service (ADS) in Doncaster is seeking a dedicated Open Access and Assessment specialist to support individuals entering treatment. You will provide advice, brief interventions, structured key working, and comprehensive assessments, including needle exchange services.

The role requires relevant qualifications (degree in Psychology/Sociology/Social Work, Diploma in Health and Social Care, or Level 3 Tackling Substance Misuse).

Qualifications

• Experience working within the substance misuse sector is desirable.
• A relevant qualification as listed above is required.
• We proudly support newly qualified Social Workers through ASYE.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice, brief interventions, structured key working, comprehensive assessments, and needle exchange service for people entering treatment.

The Open Access and Assessment (OAT) Team

The Open Access and Assessment (OAT) Team plays a vital role in supporting individuals entering treatment services.We provide advice, brief interventions, structured key working, comprehensive assessments, and a needle exchange service, helping people access the right support at the right time.

About You

We are looking for motivated and compassionate individuals who have experience working within the substance misuse sector and hold a relevant qualification, such as:

• A degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, or a related field, or
• Diploma in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
• Level 3 Tackling Substance Misuse qualification (or equivalent)

We proudly support newly qualified Social Workers through the ASYE programme.

This is a full-time position (37.5 hours per week).

Office hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm, with one late evening until 7:30pm on a rota basis.
