Job summary

Leaders in Care is recruiting for an experienced Social Worker to join a Local Authority's MASH in Greater Manchester. The role is frontline at the point of referral, shaping intervention and safeguarding decisions for vulnerable children and families, in partnership with health, education, police and early help services.

You will work within a Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub, handle initial assessments and short‑term interventions, maintain accurate information, and ensure smooth handovers to

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker.
• Registered with Social Work England.
• Experience in a MASH, Duty or Assessment Team.
• Confident working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Strong assessment and analytical skills.
• Excellent understanding of safeguarding thresholds and statutory responsibilities.
• Able to work effectively with multi-agency partners and under pressure.

Responsibilities

We are currently working with a large, well-structured local authority in Greater Manchesters seeking an experienced Social Worker to join their MASH. This is a pivotal frontline role at the point of referral, where your decisions shape the direction of intervention and support for vulnerable children and families.

Working in a Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH), you’ll work closely with professionals from health, education, police, and early help services to gather information, make informed decisions, and ensure appropriate safeguarding responses. The team also covers initial assessments and short-term interventions, with clear handovers to longer-term teams when needed.
