Sanctuary Personnel - Social Worker Position in Bedford

Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for a Social Worker within the Fostering Team based in Bedford. The salary for this role is up to £37,890 per annum.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Work within the values of the Department as expressed within the Care Act and 'Putting People First', promoting autonomy, independence, choice, and wellbeing.
  2. Manage workload independently, seek support when needed, and exercise higher judgments in complex, risky, or uncertain situations. Reflect on experience to anticipate issues.
  3. Accept responsibility and work with individuals facing complex social and family crises. Conduct assessments and safeguard enquiries relating to vulnerable adults, making recommendations and decisions to ensure safety and liberty, following best interests and emergency procedures.
  4. Collaborate with service users to assess needs, produce shared statements, and identify options in line with Personalization/Self Directed Support principles.
  5. Assist in deciding and implementing appropriate options for service users.
  6. Act as the named contact person for service users within the Department.
  7. Coordinate and evaluate care plans, including direct work with users as appropriate.
  8. Work collaboratively with other agencies such as Health, Education, Police, and service providers from the Department, private, or voluntary sectors.
  9. Maintain accurate, confidential records in accordance with departmental policies.
  10. Attend case conferences and meetings, producing reports as required.
  11. Participate in multi-agency teams and undertake duties as assigned by the Team or Line Manager.
  12. Meet the requirements of the Professional Capabilities Framework at the Social Worker level and be registered with Social Work England, adhering to practice standards, conduct, and professional development.
Minimum Requirements:
  • A recognised Social Work Qualification or equivalent.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Registration with Social Work England.
