Job summary

Walsall Council is seeking a Social Worker to join the Aspiring Futures team, focusing on exploited young people and those at medium or high risk. The role requires trauma-informed practice, strong assessment and collaboration with families and services.

You will work closely with partner agencies to reduce exploitation risks, support safe outcomes for children, and participate in multi-agency planning and safeguarding processes. Supervision and clinical support are provided.

Qualifications

• Qualified social worker with at least 12 months post-qualifying experience in children's services.
• Registered with Social Work England.
• Knowledge of risk management, context weighting and exploitation factors.
• Experience with Children Act 1989 and Working Together to Safeguard Children.
• Excellent communication, written and verbal with families and professionals.

Responsibilities

• Work with young people at medium or high risk of exploitation to reduce risks.
• Lead safeguarding assessments and family work using our Aspiring Futures model.
• Participate in supervision and access clinical supervision.
• Collaborate with partner agencies and contribute to MACE meetings.
