Job summary

Walsall Council is hiring a Social Worker for the Aspiring Futures team in Walsall, England. The role focuses on safeguarding exploited children and young people, providing trauma-informed support, and working across partner agencies to reduce risk.

The post requires social work qualification and registration with Social Work England, with a salary range of £44,253–£47,665 depending on experience. The post is based in a hybrid model with 2–3 days office-based and 9-day fortnights pattern.

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker with 12+ months PQE in children’s services.
• Registered with Social Work England.

Responsibilities

• Work with children and young people exploited, providing trauma-informed support.
• Contribute to exploitation risk reduction and contextual safeguarding assessments (Our Family and Exploitation Risk Reduction).
• Engage families and young people in risk planning and decision making.
• Provide supervision and professional development within Aspiring Futures team.
• Attend MACE meetings and collaborate with partner agencies to safeguard young people.
